Construção dos anos 1950, da autoria do Arquitecto Keil do Amaral, que se destinou a albergar a família do Director do Aeroporto durante a gestão da Direção Geral de Aeronáutica Civil. Com a passagem da gestão para a ANA - Aeroportos e Navegação Aérea, EP e a criação da Direcção Regional do Atlântico (DRATL), esta moradia passou a ser ocupada pelo Diretor Regional (DRATL). Mais tarde, com a cisão da ANA,EP em ANA, SA e NAV Portugal, EPE, o edifício ficou atribuído à empresa de Navegação Aérea e ocupado pelo seu Director de Operações do Atlântico (DOPATL). Em 2012, o edifício transitou para o Domínio Privativo da Região Autónoma dos Açores e em 2019 foi anunciado que seria a futura sede da Agência Espacial Portuguesa – Portugal Space.
A 1950s construction, designed by architect Keil do Amaral, which was intended to house the family of the Airport Director during the management of the General Directorate of Aeronautics. With the change of management to ANA (Airports and Air Navigation) and the creation of its Regional Direction of the Atlantic (DRATL), this house was occupied by the Regional Director (DRATL). Later, with the division of ANA-EP in ANA (National Airports) and NAV (Air Navigation Services), the building was assigned to the company of Air Navigation and occupied by its Atlantic Operations Director (DOPATL). Presently, the building owned by the Azorean Government is projected to be the future Portuguese Space Agency national headquarters.
